A small Christmas illustration assembled out of elements I designed for a client project.
While researching for traditional Christmas motifs, I came to the realization that many of the objects we associate with Christmas are either designed to produce light, or to make noise.
This makes sense, since winter nights are long, and dark, and frightening. While these objects now seem quaint and endearing, they were really meant as weapons against the dangers that might be lurking in the shadows, such as hungry wolves, bears or boars.
